No Time to be Nothing

Don’t let anyone tell you to give up yourself. Just remember who you are.

Birth has leased us an imagination,

a funny thing made of cosmic perturbations,

nebulae condensing in the network of our mind.

In the end it’s self fulfilling, so long as

swirls of color stay more thrilling

than the insecure ego which tells us reminds us we’re slowly dying

and wraps us in a bind.

Don’t let anyone tell you to give up yourself. Just remember who you are.

You think you’re special? You’re one of a kind.

You think you’re special? It’s not a crime.

Fear is the breakdown of the first ego to be,

Heaven sends a message and we must believe this time.

Every square inch of our fear must die, and we must stoop to cry,

but Jesus never shaved his head and chose to worship the dead,

he took god’s silken wisdom and he let it supersede him.

He let himself become who he already was.

Don’t let anyone tell you to give up yourself. Just remember who you are.
