Autumn Dreaming

The sun sets over golden fields of our youth

Stretching to worlds end in the evening light

The children lay in their own patch of truth

Ignorant only to their own insight

They lay among trees grasping for the sky

Such is peace to the spawn of the earth

They look to the stars so old and high

Yet have no doubts of a firefly’s worth

Holding hands beneath the heavens

Honey flows always in vulnerable eyes

The bread of a young soul leavens

When the moonshine may block out the lies

Unexpecting tears cure unrequited fears, love is god’s true face

True strength is formed building yourself of Their eternal lace
